Laozi

570–500 BCE · Daoism

What you’d believe

  1. The Dao (the Way)There is an ineffable source and pattern of all things — the Dao — that cannot be named or fully grasped.
  2. Wu wei (non-action / effortless action)Act by not forcing — align with the natural flow rather than striving and interfering.
  3. Naturalness and simplicity (ziran)Return to simplicity, humility, and spontaneity; the soft overcomes the hard.
